Still have questions? Everything you need to feel confident starting with Violin, Viola or Cello lessons.
Most children are ready to begin violin or viola lessons around age 5, depending on their attention span, coordination, and interest in music. For cello lessons we recommend our students be at least 10 years old. Our string teachers tailor lessons to each student’s age, personality, and learning style to create a positive and encouraging environment. Early lessons focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of music.
Teens and adults can start at any age — whether learning for the first time or returning to an instrument after years away.
Students in our string lessons learn proper technique, posture, bow control, intonation, note reading, rhythm, ear training, and musical expression while exploring music they enjoy. Every lesson is personalized to the student’s age, experience level, learning style, and goals. Whether your child is starting beginner violin lessons, preparing for school orchestra, or pursuing advanced classical repertoire, we have a teacher and approach that fits their needs.
At the first lesson, your teacher will take time to learn about your musical interests and goals so they can create a plan that keeps lessons motivating, engaging, and fun.
You do not need an instrument to book your trial lesson. We can help guide you through the process of selecting the right size violin, viola, or cello based on the student’s age and needs. Most beginner students start with a rental instrument before purchasing their own. Your teacher will help recommend trusted local music stores and rental options.
Our string teachers work with students in a variety of musical styles including classical, pop, fiddle, worship, film music, and contemporary styles. Whether your goal is to perform in orchestra, play your favorite songs, audition for youth symphony, or simply enjoy making music, we help students build a path that fits their interests and goals. We have a diverse team of teachers with different musical backgrounds and personalities, allowing us to thoughtfully match each student with an instructor who inspires and connects with them.
String lessons are typically once per week. We schedule at the same day and time each week. Weekly consistency is the single biggest factor in student progress.
Private Violin, Viola and Cello lessons are offered in 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes lengths. Most beginner string students start with a 30 minute weekly lesson.
Tuition is billed monthly and includes your lessons, recitals, our Level Up Achievement program, and more! All designed to keep students engaged and progressing.
Payments are processed automatically via ACH or credit card on the first of each month. Click here to View Tuition Rates.
No long-term contracts. Lessons run month-to-month and if you ever need to stop, we simply ask for 30 days’ notice.
And if life gets in the way of a lesson, we offer unlimited makeups with at least 24 hours’ notice. So missing a week doesn’t mean losing momentum.
